Would a robot mower suit your lawn?
Start with the grass you actually cut, the steepest part of your lawn and what you want to spend.
Check your lawn area and slope
Thinking about a robot for your lawn or floors? Start with the job you want help with, then see what to check before you buy.
Start with the grass you actually cut, the steepest part of your lawn and what you want to spend.
Check your lawn area and slope
Estimate the area of each patch of grass, then add them together. A 10 m by 20 m patch gives you 200 m². Leave out paths, garden beds and the house. If two lawns are separated by steps, check how the mower would get from one to the other.
Look for the steepest stretch the mower would need to cross. A rise of 20 cm over 1 metre measured horizontally is a 20% slope. If you only know the lawn feels steep, skip the number for now. Before buying, check the manufacturer’s limits both inside the lawn and along its edge.
If you want the robot to wipe your hard floors too, choose “Required” for mopping. If vacuuming alone would do, you can keep both kinds in view.
It empties dust from the robot into its base. Check which dock comes with the model you’re considering. Charging the robot and washing its mop are separate functions.
Use the most you want to spend on the machine. Check delivery, replacement bags and other running costs separately. The shopping results show the price range each shop applies.
